5 years of Forårsblomster

On February 20th I made my first blogpost on Forårsblomster. I named it "Rød og rod", which is Danish "Red and mess". It worked way better in Danish than in English tbh. I basically just took some pictures of red things, I liked and one of my very messy room and ran them through Pixlr o-matic.

Next up was my interest in gemstones and, while we were at it, my worry dolls from Guatemala..

so smol

Then a post about my life at the time: I was in a school play, which is why I decided to take three pictures of me wearing a hat. I made a collage and a gif, and ended up posting the collage. I am so so sorry for the extremely bad selective colouring. Also I'm guessing, that you might be able to see a pattern in the way I edited pictures.

Only then I decided to make a post about my love of music. I honestly have no idea, why that wasn't my first post, since playing the violin is a huge part of who I am. I ended up with a lot of pictures and I'm not posting all of them, but here's the two I remember being proudest of.

Then some more about the school play.

And then - freaking finally - I went on my first "photo safari". It was spring and nature was full of motives. I was pumped and took a lot of pictures with my new favourite setting on my fancy VG-120: Vignette

After that I found that it was time for even more portrayal of my personal life, more specifically how I spent my Friday evening. Watching old Disney cartoons and drinking soda. There it is again, the editing.

Then a long philosophic (nah) post about my fascination of how deaf people manage to live a basically normal life, despite their handicap. I tried to take pictures of me spelling my name, but I ended up just googling the letters and putting them together in Pixlr Editor. And after that running the picture though Pixlr o-matic!!1!

Then a couple more posts about my personal life and pictures of my stuff. I have a soft spot for that picture of my bed. Again, editing.

NOW. Now it was time for the unavoidable DIY post. I chose to make it about a lamp, which I still have today. I love that lamp, and it matches the painting currently in my room.

After the lamp post, I deleted the old gemstone/worry doll post and posted a new one. Then came my first blog recommendation, of the blog eventyrlysten.blogspot.com, which has just now of June 2015 been restarted.
And then I learned that my camera could take a photo sequence, and that it could be giffed and had some fun with rainy weather and my dog.

Apparently I am really bad at this layout thing right now, but whatever.

I got the permission to take some photos of a friend of mine while I still wasn't over the gif thing. I was so pumped about the gifs.

this is actually pretty good, considering the circumstances

Then a very bad post about a project I was doing for school. I'm not gonna post anything from that, but instead from the day I brought my camera to school. I also managed to use a NEW PRESENT FROM PIXLR O-MATIC WOOOHOOOO.

Even back then I was a bit emo, it seems. At least when it came to editing.

Somehow it was still spring and I gather that I must have posted very often, since I have a lot of pictures of early flowers and then these from my birthday, where I got my braces removed:

Such smile, very no brace

Then comes even more spring pictures:

Yes, it's a thong in a tree

Finally it seems that I took a break of more than a week. During that break, I apparently learned basic Photoshop skills such as layering in the Pixlr Editor.

Amazing, I know
PICTURES OF THE SKY!!!!!!! COLLAGES!!! SUNSET!!! THE USUAL EDITING

Then I went on hiatus for a little more than half a year and came back with this. Personally I think my editing skills improved a lot.

Another post about worry dolls and another post about my violin.
my used like 3 times pickup.
Aaaaand the time has come. A self portrait. Very bad, very emo. But my first real self portrait, which more looks like a weird selfie.

so artsy, so emo

Also it was around this time, I started using pictures for post titles:

Further music posts.

This picture kind of inspired the one I
posted of Nielsens Dance of the Prisoners

In case you hadn't already figured it out, due to the "hiatus for half a year" it's winter again and I'm playing with the editing options in Photoscacpe, which is a great program, if you're not ready for super complicated editing programs just yet.

I drew my first even shaded drawing, my violin

I jumped head first into it and ended up with this

I joined a photoblog consisting of me an 7 other girls. I think I might have been posting on Sundays, not sure though. The first picture had to be related to light in some way, can't remember how
I envied this header so much

I had a second "random xD!" phase and made a review of the movie Warm Bodies

lol so random!!! two different colours xD

Then something significant happened: I got hold of my dad's DSLR. I loved it. But it was only once and I loved those pictures.

Fast forward through another hiatus, then the last picture with my loyal VG-120

In March 2013 I started borrowing my dads Olympus E-410 on a regular basis and actually used it more than him.

I'm great at that layout thing.
I made a couple of posts about it almost being spring and about the fact that I'd recently watched Forest Gump. Also improved editing skillzzzzzz

Dear God
Make me a bird
So I can fly far
Far far away from here
Anyway, I chose photography as an optional subject at school and had some fun doing that. It was mostly the taking photographing part I was interested in though, since our teacher was shit.

look how great i'd become at selective colouring

idk

I bought an old, not working due to requiring mercury battery camera. I still have it, it's very decorative.

wow, gif
Fotogenerne was still going strong, and I started a second photography blog with my friend Lise.

The theme was dreams and I dreamt about livin' in the good ol' days

I blogged about the shitty Danish weather

spring? nah

About finding my old VHS tapes
so smol so cute
I made my first and so far basically only photo series, which was of the old abandoned houses in my village.

click on the picture and get send to flickr. the just press right arrow
I started experimenting with night photography

haha not blurry at all, no idea what you're talking 'bout
Made a pretty rad small photo series named "Twilight" (not as in the movie, as in the time of day)

yeAH
Made a blog post about how I fell in the small creek near my house in an attempt of photographing the nearby nature.

my shoes got really really wet and so did my legs
Another self portrait, which I used as my facebook profile picture

artsy, musicy and blurry. nice ponytail though
What I considered a good picture at the time
so so so overexposed
THEN I BECAME RICH AND BOUGHT MY NIKON. I bought the D3200 because my dad had bought and I tried it and liked it.
so depth of field!!! SO GOOD QUALITY!!!!!

I took a lot of pictures of random shit and decided I needed a break from the blog. With the break post came this picture of a horse, because why not.

A couple of months happened and I found a dead bird on the porch during summer break

I decided to post all of the pictures I had, that I thought should be on the blog.

tbh i was really proud of this

also proud of this
and this

How to layout...
Made two posts more during summer break

kinda like this editing, not for this photo though
LOOOONG PAUSE AGAIN. Like a few months and then it was autumn and my editing skills improved a ton, because I watched a lot of tutorials on youtube.

nice, huh?
It really started showing that I'd become a teenager and had lost the discipline it took to regularly post to a blog. I posted two more pictures in 2013 and then I didn't post again until '14.

2014. I start trying new shit and post only a couple of pictures in all of 2014, in the summer and spring.

i love this pic i can almost smell the rain
i experimented a lot with self portraits
idk, i tried to go back to a simpler time
i took a picture of my hair before i cut almost half of it of
perfection 1.0
As I said, trying new shit
i dont even know i just liked the colours
Then came 2015 and my poor attempt at keeping this blog going. I got taste for soft colors and lots of self portraits. I look forward too see, what the second half of the year is going to bring.

Then came 2016 and then halfway through 2016 I realised that I did indeed still have a blog. I went on the blog and realised that I'd failed. I have 24 followers, it seems no one reads what I put up, but this blog is a project for me. My project, my rules. Forårsblomster can be exactly what I want, and it's going to be the place where I put my pictures and pretend like someone's watching.

I don't know what consistency is. It's been 5 years now, literally. I'm very self conscious about my photography, don't really feel like I am improving at all and just feel overall stuck. I like pretty colours and birds though.
